Starting from 4th March 2024, UK traders will have the capability to submit CDS Export declarations for all routes, including inventory linked maritime locations, as part of the move to the new Customs Declaration Service (CDS).
Powercargo is dedicated to ensuring that our clients are well-prepared for this change. The Customs Declaration Service is set to become the sole platform for all customs data, offering a more streamlined, modern interface for the submission and management of customs declarations.
In line with HMRC's timeline, all traders are required to transition to CDS by the 4th of June 2024. It is crucial to note that post this date, the current CHIEF system will no longer be operational for customs declarations. We encourage all our clients and partners to familiarize themselves with the CDS to ensure a smooth transition and compliance with the new system.
HMRC has released comprehensive guidance for traders adapting to the Customs Declarations Service, providing resources and support to facilitate this significant update.
Powercargo is committed to providing continuous updates and assistance throughout this transition. For more detailed information regarding the CDS Export declarations and the transition process, please refer to the official HMRC announcement and their additional guidance for traders.
Let's navigate this change together and continue to streamline our trade and customs processes for a more efficient future.
